CovidSafe Policy
Since Covid-19 had come around, we have been very lucky on Norfolk Island and have not had to stress much about it as we shut down early and put measures into place as a community to prevent the spread. Now the time has come to open Norfolk back up for tourism, and we want to be as prepared as possible. Therefore - BJ's Jewellers has implemented a new policy, effective July 10th, 2020, to reduce the risk of Covid spreading, and to keep our customers and employees safe. We ask that you take a moment to read the steps we are taking below. Thank you
-Physical distancing will be observed at all possible times in the shop. Employees will stay behind the counters and we ask that customers follow suit and stay in front of the counters.
- Sanitiser stations are available at the front door and at the pay counter. We ask that you utilise the sanitiser upon entering the shop, and before and after handling jewellery.
- We have a limit of 5 customers at a time. If there are any more than 5 people that would like to enter the shop at once, they will be asked to wait outside or come back at a later time.
- We ask that you try to use a credit or debit card wherever possible to limit the handling of cash, but we understand this isnt always possible.
- If you feel ill, have a cough or fever, or have been around someone that is sick, we ask that you stay home. We now reserve the right to refuse service and ask anyone to leave that is coughing or displaying sick symptoms. Seek medical care immediately if you feel flu like.
- BJ's Jewellers will no longer assist customers with putting on or taking off jewellery. Please bring a friend or family member along if you think you will need help.
- All BJ's Jewellers employees will wash hands frequently, especially between customers interactions, and will use sanitiser between tasks. Employees will sanitise the POS terminal between uses. Employees will wear gloves when handling jewellery and assisting customers, and will maintain a distance of 1.5 meters whenever possible. Counters and common places will be wiped down and sanatised frequently.
While this is a scary time for everyone, we promise we will do our best to make shopping as comfortable and normal as possible. This new policy will be reviewed and adjusted as necessary with future changes. BJ's Jewellers current plan in place is in line with NSW Covid Safe business registry. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
